Features of Google Sites
After the complete redesign that Google Sites service received in 2016, the old web application was separated into the ‘Classic’ Google Sites, while the new official version moved to the full original set of services, backend features, and UI solutions that are not based on old JotSpot technology anymore.

It also supports multi-level menus, collaborative editing with permission access, domain name mapping, and full controls for designing and editing all website elements.
Users of the modern version of Google Sites should be aware that the most recent version of the website editor does not provide support for many of the “Classic” features that were previously available. These “Classic” features include the ability to integrate third-party gadget extensions, Google Apps Script and Google Tag Manager, custom CSS, and Google AdSense advertisements.
